As an example, many people consider slavery as a cause of capitalism but the fact is that slavery has existed for a long period of time and it is older than the first human records.
Primary sources do not always show the complete picture of the period they are from because sometimes these sources include only the point of view of one person and the incidents they went through.

For this reason, ideas from the past may seem archaic and unreasonable when compared to our current thinking.
